Project risk management has never been more sophisticated. Yet making risk visible to PMOs and business leaders, and escalating it effectively, remains challenging.

In this session, we will explore when project risk becomes a strategic priority and how to recognise the signals early. We will examine the structural barriers most PMOs face, including the framing, language and relationship challenges that make upward communication difficult, regardless of how good the underlying analysis is.

We will also look at practical ways to translate delivery risk into business consequences, connecting project data to the outcomes that resonate with senior stakeholders. Drawing on patterns from PMOs that are finding success, we will explore what is working in practice to bridge the gap between delivery reality and strategic decision-making.
