Ben Lawrence leads the PetSmart Risk Management Team and is responsible for corporate insurance, claims, and enterprise RMIS programs. Ben entered the industry in 2008 as a safety analyst at PetSmart where he developed the scorecards, dashboards, and accountability metrics foundational to the company’s best-in-class safety programs in the stores and distribution centers. He transitioned to the PetSmart risk management team in 2011 and has transformed the way analytics are used to manage and reduce total cost of risk. Ben is leading the journey at PetSmart to operationalize risk management by using Riskonnect to engage with the business to facilitate cross-functional alignment, create efficiencies, and deliver access to actionable information. He has led multiple system implementations, including two RMIS systems, and has served on the Sedgwick viaOne Client Advisory Board and Riskonnect Advisory Board.
